New use for an old Mac

My Power Mac 8500/180 has been pressed into service.

I’ve finally installed Darwin. Seems the cool kids were all doing that years ago, but I never actually had a system available to do that.

Now, thanks to the magic of XPostFacto and a RAM upgrade to 128 MB in the Mac, I’ve got Darwin 1.4.1 installed. Since I don’t have a G3 or G4 upgrade installed that’s the newest version I can run – it’s the open source base of Mac OS X 10.1 – but it should be more than adequate to get a handle on some of the technologies, like NetInfo, that I don’t really have any experience with.
