Once more into the breach…

I’ve swapped out the RAM in the laptop and finished the initial setup (again). Hopefully this time I’ll have a little more luck.

Not much to report. I did manage to get everything but my iTunes library backed up from the old PowerBook. For reasons that aren’t entirely clear, there’s no way to crank down the burn speed on the .Mac Backup utility, so I ended up with 3 discs that I couldn’t back up to. I thought better of throwing them out and successfully used them with Toast Titanium, though, and successfully salvaged 2 of the 3.

We’ll go for a couple of days like this using it as I normally would. Since I only have 256MB of RAM, though, it could be a little tight.

[Update – I realize I wasn’t clear earlier when I wrote about the backup situation. My iTunes music library is still intact, I just didn’t waste the DVD space to back it up. The iPod mini largely obsoletes it, anyway.]
