Visitors From the North

No, no, it’s not the Huns invading. Or the Canadians. On Thursday, Michelle’s sister-in-law Jaimie arrived with daughter Faith for a couple of days’ visit.

Faith at 16 months The little tow-headed cutie sure can be a handful to get to bed. Maybe it’s the chocolate ice cream we pumped into her; maybe it’s the strange environment; maybe it’s too dark, I don’t know. Or maybe it’s the fact that she’s in the room with Shaelin… nah, couldn’t be. I think our working theory is that they both egg each other on. It gets old after it’s gone on for a couple of hours, though.
Regan's ice cream face
I was hoping to capture Faith in the act of taking a bite of ice cream. Unfortunately she seems a bit camera shy. I threw out at least 3 pictures of her tonight, some of them with Jaimie, because she either turned away or put a hand in her face to hide. It sure was cute! But alas, it doesn’t translate well into a photo. Believe it or not the photo on the right is from the final bite of ice cream.

Where Faith was pretty clean by the end, Regan (at left) couldn’t keep ice cream off her face to save her soul. Well, maybe in an extreme case like that, but let me tell you, it’s pretty hard for her. She can sooner stay quiet and go to sleep than she can keep from getting messy with ice cream. If you’re wondering what the red circle is, that would be the cherry dip that she got tonight. Don’t ask me how she thinks up ways to get messy… I don’t know where it comes from.

I think maybe it was Regulans. That’s where it comes from. Regulans. You know, from Regulus.
