The BBC has a disturbing report on the situation in Baghdad.

They’re not an infallible news source, and I’d like to find some corroboration:

Meanwhile – virtually unreported by the international media – the kidnapping of Iraqis for ransom has become commonplace, particularly in Baghdad.

It seems like one of the Iraqi bloggers would have more on this… I’ll update this if I find something.
