Quick! Do something!

Reuters is apparently getting desperate. Not only do they print John Edwards’ comments without question, but they couch comments by both Sen. Bob Dole and Van Odell in such terms as to draw question to their veracity.

Worse still is the guilt-by-association argument that the SBVT ads are somehow the result of (illegal!) connections with the Bush campaign.

Another Reuters article points out that one of the men who appeared in the second addoes have a connection:

The group’s latest ad includes a Bush-Cheney volunteer, retired Air Force Col. Ken Cordier, condemning Kerry’s 1971 congressional testimony that Dole spoke of. Cordier was a prisoner of war during Vietnam.

While this is more or less true, there’s one problem with the statement as it is written. As the following paragraph mentions, Col. Cordier has been released from his responsibilities with the Bush campaign. The above implies just the opposite… that he is currently a campaign volunteer. Fair and balanced reporting? (Quick, someone call FOX News Channel, maybe they can learn something here!)

By the way, Polipundit loves Bob Dole. Me too.
