Even this little thing requires me to get over something of a distaste for photos of myself. At least it&#8217;s not a portrait, something for which I have a distinct dislike.<\/p>\n<p>It goes deeper than just photos of myself. If you look at both my digital photos and my collection of prints I&#8217;ve assembled over the years, you&#8217;ll find that the overwhelming majority of them feature just about any subject except for people. I&#8217;ve made some notable exceptions with my family because I want to document our life together, but really, I&#8217;d rather take a close up photo of a plant or try to capture a landscape. Strangely, this is reversed when it comes to video; I&#8217;ll have to dive into the psychology of that some time.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, this <a href=\"http:\/\/homepage.mac.com\/srey0123\/other-stuff\/06-16-04_1851.jpg\">self-image<\/a> is the result of a brief flash of creativity with a camera phone, then some touchup on the PowerBook.
